Ingredients
  

For the Bread:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter optional for brushing

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Set aside for later.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves until combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, apple cider and vanilla until smooth.

Combine Wet and Dry

  • Pour wet ingredients into dry. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix to keep bread tender.

Pour Batter

  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Smooth top with spatula for even baking.

Bake the Bread

  • Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Bread should be golden brown.

Cool Slightly

  • Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a cooling rack for further cooling.

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar

  • Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Brush bread with melted butter if desired. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.

Slice and Serve

  • Cut bread into slices once slightly cooled. Serve warm or at room temperature with coffee or tea.

Notes

  • Use fresh apple cider for best flavor.
  • Do not overmix batter to keep bread fluffy.
  • Add more cinnamon sugar if you like sweeter topping.
  • Let bread cool slightly before slicing for clean cuts.
  • Can add chopped apples or nuts for extra texture.
