Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry white wine 750 ml
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 apple thinly sliced
  • 1 orange sliced
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ cup sparkling water or club soda
  • ½ cup ice cubes

Instructions

Prepare the Fruit

  • Wash the apple and orange carefully. Slice them into thin rounds or small wedges. Removing seeds is helpful. Fresh fruit adds color, natural sweetness and flavor to the sangria.

Add Fruit to the Pitcher

  • Place the sliced apple and orange pieces into a large pitcher. Gently press them with a spoon. This releases some juice and improves the fruity flavor.

Pour the Liquids

  • Add the white wine, apple cider and apple juice into the pitcher. Stir gently so the flavors combine. The mixture will start smelling sweet and refreshing.

Add Sweetener and Spice

  • Add maple syrup or honey to the pitcher. Drop in the cinnamon stick. Stir slowly until the sweetener dissolves. This step adds warmth and a light autumn flavor.

Chill the Sangria

  • Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least one hour. This chilling step allows the fruit to absorb the flavors and makes the drink taste balanced.

Add Sparkling Water

  • Just before serving, pour sparkling water or club soda into the pitcher. Stir gently. The bubbles make the sangria lighter and more refreshing.

Serve the Drink

  • Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the sangria over the ice. Add a few fruit slices to each glass for decoration and extra flavor.

Notes

  • Use a crisp white wine like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.
  • Fresh apple cider gives the best flavor.
  • Chill the drink longer for deeper fruit flavor.
  • Slice fruit thinly so it releases more juice.
  • Add sparkling water right before serving for fresh bubbles.
  • For stronger flavor, add a splash of apple brandy.
