Ingredients

  • 6 large jalapeno peppers
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 slices of bacon cut in half
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Jalapenos

  • Wash the jalapenos. Cut them in half lengthwise. Remove seeds and membranes carefully using a small spoon.

Make the Cheese Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Fill the Jalapenos

  • Use a spoon or small scoop to fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture. Press lightly to secure the filling.

Wrap With Bacon

  • Take half a slice of bacon. Wrap each stuffed jalapeno half with bacon. Secure with a toothpick if needed.

Preheat the Oven

  • Set the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Bake the Poppers

  • Place the bacon-wrapped jalapenos on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes until bacon is crispy.

Cool Slightly

  • Remove from oven. Let poppers cool for 5 minutes. Cheese will be hot, so serve carefully.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Arrange poppers on a plate. Serve warm as a snack, appetizer, or party treat.

Notes

  • Choose fresh, firm jalapenos for the best texture.
  • Soften cream cheese for easier mixing and filling.
  • Use toothpicks to hold bacon in place while baking.
  • Adjust cheese types to your preference, like pepper jack for extra spice.
  • Watch closely near the end to avoid overcooked bacon.
