Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 medium apples peeled and diced
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2 tbsp milk for glaze

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, butter, vanilla.
  • Add wet mix to dry mix slowly.
  • Fold in diced apples gently.
  • Drop spoonfuls onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.
  • Cool fritters on a wire rack.
  • Whisk powdered sugar with milk for glaze.
  • Drizzle glaze over warm fritters.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use tart apples for a strong flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter.
  • Bake until fritters are golden, not pale.
  • Add nuts if you like crunch.
  • Glaze fritters while they are still warm.
