Ingredients

  • 12 fresh talaba oysters, cleaned
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 cup grated cheese mozzarella or quick melt
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

Clean the Oysters

  • Wash the oysters well under cold water. Remove any dirt or small shells stuck outside.

Open the Shells

  • Use a knife or oyster shucker. Open the oysters gently and keep the meat inside the deeper shell.

Prepare the Butter Mix

  • Mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice and parsley in a small bowl until smooth.

Add Butter Mix on Oysters

  • Spoon a little butter mix over each oyster. Make sure the garlic spreads well.

Season the Oysters

  • Add a little salt and black pepper to each oyster. Add more garlic if you want.

Add Cheese on Top

  • Put grated cheese on each oyster. Cover the surface fully for a rich taste.

Heat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Let it get hot for even cooking.

Arrange the Oysters

  • Place oysters on a baking tray. Use foil to keep them steady if needed.

Bake the Talaba

  • Bake the oysters for 10 to 12 minutes. Stop when the cheese melts and turns golden.

Serve the Baked Talaba

  • Remove from the oven carefully. Serve while hot with lemon slices on the side.

Notes

  • Use fresh oysters for the best flavor.
  • Do not overbake. The oysters become tough and dry.
  • Add chopped chili for a spicy version.
  • Add more cheese for a creamier taste.
  • If oysters wobble, place rock salt under them in the tray.
  • Try adding herbs like thyme or basil for more aroma.
