The Best Hibiscus Lemonade Recipe is bright, fresh and very refreshing. It has a pretty red color and a light tart taste.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups water
  • ½ cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • ½ cup sugar or honey
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices for serving

Instructions
 

Boil the Water

  • Pour four cups of water into a saucepan. Bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Steep the Hibiscus

  • Turn off the heat. Add dried hibiscus flowers. Cover the pan and steep for ten minutes.

Strain the Tea

  • Strain the hibiscus tea into a bowl or pitcher. Remove all flowers. Press gently for more color.

Sweeten the Tea

  • Add sugar or honey to the warm tea. Stir well until fully dissolved and smooth.

Add Lemon Juice

  • Pour fresh lemon juice into the sweetened tea. Stir gently until mixed evenly.

Add Cold Water

  • Add two cups of cold water. Stir again. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.

Chill the Lemonade

  • Place the pitcher in the fridge. Chill for at least one hour before serving.

Serve Cold

  • Fill glasses with ice. Pour hibiscus lemonade over ice. Add lemon slices if you like.

  • Use fresh lemon juice for best taste.
  • Do not over-steep hibiscus flowers.
