Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Soak the Breadcrumbs

  • Place breadcrumbs in a bowl. Pour milk over them. Let them soak until soft and spongy.

Mix the Meat

  • Add ground beef and pork to a large bowl. Mix gently with your hands until combined.

Add Seasonings

  • Add soaked breadcrumbs, egg, cheese, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper and seasoning. Mix gently until just combined.

Shape the Meatballs

  • Roll mixture into even balls. Each meatball should be about golf ball size.

Arrange on Baking Sheet

  • Place meatballs on the prepared baking sheet. Leave space between each for even cooking.

Drizzle with Oil

  • Lightly drizzle olive oil over meatballs. This helps them brown nicely in the oven.

Bake the Meatballs

  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Meatballs should be cooked through and lightly browned.

Rest Before Serving

  • Remove meatballs from oven. Let them rest for five minutes before serving or saucing.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat.
  • Use both beef and pork for juiciness.
  • Wet hands before rolling meatballs.
  • Bake instead of frying for less mess.
  • Rest meatballs before serving.
