Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions
 

Activate the yeast

  • In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy and bubbly for best results.

Mix dry ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Stir lightly to distribute salt evenly throughout the flour.

Combine wet and dry

  • Add yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Stir gently with a spoon until dough starts coming together evenly.

Knead the dough

  • Transfer dough to a floured surface. Knead for 8–10 minutes until soft, smooth, and elastic without sticking to hands.

First rise

  • Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a towel. Let rise 1 hour until doubled in size, in a warm spot.

Preheat oven

  • While dough rises, preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

Shape the dough

  • Punch dough down gently. Divide into portions. Roll each into a circle or rectangle for your pizza shape.

Add toppings

  • Place dough on baking sheet or stone. Add sauce, cheese and your favorite toppings evenly on the dough surface.

Bake the pizza

  • Bake in the oven 12–15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Rotate halfway for even baking.

Serve and enjoy

  • Remove pizza carefully. Let cool slightly. Slice and enjoy hot, fresh and chewy homemade pizza with family.
