Ingredients

  • Ground beef – 1 ½ pounds
  • Onion finely chopped – 1 medium
  • Garlic minced – 2 cloves
  • Breadcrumbs – 1 cup
  • Milk – ¾ cup
  • Eggs – 2 large
  • Ketchup – ½ cup
  • Brown sugar – 2 tablespoons
  • Worcestershire sauce – 1 tablespoon
  • Dijon mustard – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika – ½ teaspoon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Cook the Onion

  • Heat olive oil in a pan. Cook onion until soft and golden, then add garlic briefly.

Prepare the Meat Mix

  • Add beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, paprika and onion mixture to a bowl.

Mix Gently

  • Mix everything gently with clean hands. Do not overmix, or the meatloaf may turn tough.

Shape the Meatloaf

  • Shape the mixture into a loaf. Place it carefully on the prepared baking sheet.

Make the Glaze

  • Mix ketchup, brown sugar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl until smooth.

Add the Glaze

  • Spread half the glaze evenly over the meatloaf before placing it in the oven.

Bake the Meatloaf

  • Bake for forty minutes. Remove and spread remaining glaze on top carefully.

Finish Baking

  • Return to the oven and bake fifteen more minutes until fully cooked and juicy.

Rest Before Slicing

  • Let the meatloaf rest ten minutes. This helps keep the slices neat and moist.

Notes

  • Use meat with some fat for better moisture.
  • Do not pack the meat tightly when shaping.
  • Resting time helps the juices stay inside.
  • Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Add herbs like parsley for fresh flavor.
