Ingredients

Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold butter cubed
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen berries blueberries, blackberries, or a mix

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the oven

  • Set your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Mix dry ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk them together until well blended.

Cut in butter

  • Add cold cubed butter to the dry mix. Use a fork or pastry cutter to blend until the mixture is crumbly.

Add milk and vanilla

  • Pour in milk and vanilla extract. Stir gently until the dough starts to come together.

Fold in berries

  • Carefully fold in the berries. Be gentle to avoid breaking them and making the dough too wet.

Shape the biscuits

  • Scoop or shape dough into 8 equal portions. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the biscuits

  • Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden and cooked through.

Prepare the glaze

  • While biscuits bake, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl. Stir until smooth.

Cool slightly

  • Remove biscuits from the oven. Let them cool for 5 minutes on a cooling rack before glazing.

Add the glaze

  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm biscuits. Let it set for a few minutes, then serve.

Notes

  • Use cold butter for fluffy biscuits.
  • Do not overmix the dough to keep biscuits light.
  • Gently fold berries to prevent the dough from turning purple.
  • You can use fresh or frozen berries depending on availability.
  • Serve warm for the best taste and texture.
