Ingredients
  

  • 1 box 15.25 oz cake mix (any flavor)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips optional
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your baking dish or line it with parchment paper. This prevents sticking and helps easy removal after baking.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine eggs, oil and water. Whisk them together until smooth. Make sure everything is well blended before adding the cake mix.

Add Cake Mix

  • Add the cake mix to the wet ingredients. Stir gently until fully combined. The dough should be thick and slightly sticky. Avoid overmixing to keep bars soft.

Add Mix-ins

  • Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using. Mix lightly to spread evenly. You can also use other add-ins like raisins, white chocolate, or candies.

Spread in Baking Dish

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it evenly using a spatula. Smooth the top for even baking.

Bake the Bars

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for 22–25 minutes or until edges are golden. Insert a toothpick in the center to check; it should come out clean.

Cool the Bars

  • Remove the baking dish from the oven. Let it cool for 10–15 minutes. Cooling makes it easier to cut into neat bars without crumbling.

Cut and Serve

  • Once cooled, cut into 12 bars. Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy them as a snack, dessert or quick treat anytime.
