Ingredients
  

  • 2 large fresh oranges
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • Extra sugar for coating optional

Slice the Oranges

  • Wash the oranges well. Cut them into thin, even slices. Remove any seeds you see.

Boil the Slices

  • Place orange slices in a pot. Cover with water. Boil for ten minutes. Drain carefully.

Prepare Sugar Syrup

  • Add sugar and fresh water to the pot. Heat gently. Stir until sugar fully dissolves.

Simmer the Oranges

  • Add orange slices to syrup. Simmer on low heat for forty minutes. Turn slices gently.

Cool the Slices

  • Remove slices carefully. Place on a wire rack. Let them cool completely.

Coat with Sugar

  • Sprinkle extra sugar on slices if desired. This adds sparkle and sweetness.
