Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta like shells or penne
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil water in a pot and cook the pasta until soft. Drain and set aside. You can also cook it directly in the pan later to save time.

Cook the Beef

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Break it into small pieces with a spoon. Drain any extra fat.

Add Onion and Garlic

  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef. Cook for 2–3 minutes until soft and fragrant. This gives the dish a nice flavor.

Add Taco Seasoning

  • Sprinkle in taco seasoning. Stir well to coat the beef evenly. The rich taco flavor will make the dish smell amazing.

Add Pasta, Broth, and Sauce

  • Add cooked pasta, beef broth and tomato sauce to the skillet. Mix everything well. Let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes so the flavors blend together.

Add Cheese

  • Add shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes thick and creamy. The cheese makes the pasta soft and gooey.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste your Cheesy Taco Pasta. Add salt and pepper as needed. You can also add a pinch of chili for extra spice.

Garnish and Serve

  • Turn off the heat. Sprinkle chopped parsley or cilantro on top. Serve hot and enjoy this creamy taco-style pasta!

Notes

  • Use fresh cheese for better melting.
  • Don’t overcook the pasta; keep it slightly firm.
  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add a little cream cheese for extra creaminess.
  • For a spicy kick, add jalapeños or chili flakes.
