  • Unsalted butter – 1/2 cup soft
  • Granulated sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Egg – 1 large
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
  • Food coloring – pink purple, or favorite colors

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk well.

Cream Butter and Sugar

Add Egg and Vanilla

  • Add one egg and vanilla extract. Beat until fully mixed.

Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients

  • Slowly add flour mixture into butter mix. Stir until dough forms.

Divide and Color Dough

  • Separate dough into two parts. Add pink food color to one, purple to the other.

Roll the Dough

Stack and Twist

  • Place rectangles together. Twist them gently to form a spiral tail shape.

Cut Tail Shapes

Bake the Tails

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.

Cool Completely

  • Move cookies to a cooling rack. Let them cool fully before serving.

Notes

  • Use soft butter for easy mixing.
  • Twist dough gently to keep tail shapes.
  • Add extra sugar on top for a sparkly effect.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep crisp.
