Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Prepare the Bread

  • Slice bread in half lengthwise. Place both halves on the prepared baking sheet.

Make Garlic Butter

  • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, and parsley.

Spread Butter on Bread

  • Spread the garlic butter evenly on the cut side of the bread halves.

Bake the Bread

  • Bake bread in the oven for 5–7 minutes until slightly golden and fragrant.

Heat the Cream

  • In a saucepan, heat heavy cream and 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat until warm.

Add Cheese to Sauce

  • Gradually add Parmesan and half of the mozzarella cheese. Stir until smooth and creamy.

Add Cooked Chicken

  • Add shredded chicken to the sauce. Stir well and season with salt and pepper.

Top the Bread

  • Spread chicken Alfredo mixture evenly on the baked garlic bread halves.

Add Remaining Cheese

  • Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over the top for a golden cheesy layer.

Bake Again

  • Return bread to oven. Bake for 8–10 minutes until cheese melts and lightly browns.

Garnish and Serve

  • Remove from oven, garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for better crispiness.
  • Do not overcook Alfredo sauce; it thickens quickly.
  • Fresh garlic gives more flavor than garlic powder.
  • You can add spinach or mushrooms to the sauce.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
