Ingredients

  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes chopped
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 jalapeños seeded for less heat
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cumin optional for smoky flavor

Instructions

Prepare the Vegetables

  • Wash the tomatoes, jalapeños and cilantro. Chop them into smaller pieces for easy blending.

Add Ingredients to Blender

  • Add tomatoes, onion, jalapeños, garlic and cilantro into the blender or food processor.

Add Seasoning

  • Add lime juice, salt, black pepper, and cumin if you like. These give flavor and balance to the salsa.

Blend the Salsa

  • Pulse the blender a few times. Blend until you get the texture you want—chunky or smooth.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste the salsa. Add more salt or lime juice if needed. Adjust heat by adding more jalapeños.

Chill the Salsa

  • Pour salsa into a bowl. Cover and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes for the best flavor.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve your Chuy’s Salsa with tortilla chips, tacos, or grilled chicken. Enjoy the fresh taste!

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe tomatoes for the best flavor.
  • For extra heat, keep some jalapeño seeds in.
  • Add a pinch of sugar if tomatoes are too tangy.
  • If you like smoky flavor, roast the tomatoes first.
  • Always chill the salsa before serving for a richer taste.
