Ingredients
  

For the Cake:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

For the Glaze:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9x9 inch baking pan. Set aside.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder and salt until combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, vanilla and egg until smooth.

Combine Wet and Dry

  • Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients. Stir gently until fully combined, forming smooth batter.

Prepare Cinnamon Swirl

  • Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a small bowl. Set aside.

Layer Cake Batter

  • Pour half of the cake batter into the pan. Spread evenly using a spatula.

Add Cinnamon Swirl

  • Sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture over the batter. Use a knife to gently swirl.

Add Remaining Batter

  • Pour remaining batter over the swirl. Smooth the top gently with spatula.

Add Remaining Cinnamon

  • Sprinkle the rest of cinnamon mixture on top. Use knife or spoon to create swirl pattern.

Bake the Cake

  • Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes. Cake is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

Prepare Glaze

  • Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth. Adjust thickness as needed.

Add Glaze

  • Drizzle glaze over warm cake. Spread lightly for full coverage. Let set for 10 minutes before serving.

  • Use room temperature ingredients for smooth batter.
  • Swirl gently to keep layers visible.
