Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread or baguette
  • 1 cup cooked crawfish tails
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup green onions chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • Optional: hot sauce for extra spice

Instructions

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil.

Prepare the Bread

  • Cut French bread in half lengthwise. Hollow out a small portion in the middle for filling.

Make Crawfish Filling

  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar, green onions, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, and crawfish tails.

Fill the Bread

  • Spoon the crawfish mixture into the hollowed bread evenly. Spread gently to fill the entire loaf.

Add Butter

  • Brush melted butter on top of the filled bread. This adds flavor and helps the cheese melt.

Bake the Bread

  • Place bread on prepared tray. Bake in preheated oven for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and slightly golden.

Slice and Serve

  • Remove from oven and let it cool slightly. Slice into pieces and serve warm as an appetizer.

Notes

  • Use fresh crawfish tails for best flavor.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
  • Hollow out the bread carefully to hold filling.
  • Add extra shredded cheese on top for a cheesy crust.
  • Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
