Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter cut into cubes
  • ¾ cup cold buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing

Instructions
 

Mix the Dry Items

  • Add flour, baking powder, sugar and salt to a bowl. Stir the dry mix well.

Cut in the Butter

  • Add cold butter cubes. Press into the flour until the mix looks crumbly.

Add the Buttermilk

  • Pour in cold buttermilk slowly. Stir until the dough comes together gently.

Shape the Dough

  • Place dough on a floured board. Press gently and keep the dough thick.

Cut the Biscuits

  • Use a cutter or glass. Press straight down for clean biscuit edges.

Place on Sheet

  • Place each biscuit on a baking sheet. Keep a little space between them.

Bake the Biscuits

  • Bake in a hot oven until golden brown. The biscuits should rise high.
