Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 80% lean
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Patties

  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Shape the mixture into 4 thick patties.

Step 2: Cook the Patties

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a little butter or oil. Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Gravy

  • In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add flour and stir for one minute to make a roux. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring. Add soy sauce and onion powder. Stir until the gravy thickens.

Step 4: Combine and Simmer

  • Place the cooked patties back into the skillet. Spoon some gravy over each patty. Simmer on low heat for 5 minutes to soak in the flavor.

Step 5: Serve

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or green beans.

Notes

  • Use fresh ground beef for juicy patties.
  • Don’t press the patties while cooking.
  • Add sliced onions for more flavor.
  • Stir the gravy constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Let the patties rest before serving.
