Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg for egg wash, optional

Instructions

Cook the Sausage

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain any extra grease and let it cool slightly.

Make the Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage, cream cheese, and shredded cheddar. Stir until creamy and well mixed.

Prepare the Dough

  • Open the crescent roll cans and separate the triangles. You can also keep them as rectangles and cut them later.

Add the Filling

  • Place a spoonful of sausage mixture on each dough piece. Roll the dough around the filling and seal the edges.

Bake the Bites

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with egg wash if you want a shiny finish. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Let the bites cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill the dough; it may leak out.
  • Use spicy sausage for extra flavor.
  • Add a pinch of garlic powder or herbs to the filling.
  • Make them ahead and bake later for fresh snacks.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven.
