  • 1/4 cup gum base
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp flavor extract strawberry, mint, or bubblegum
  • Food coloring optional
  • Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Melt the gum base

  • Place gum base in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals. Stir until soft and sticky.

Add corn syrup

  • Mix corn syrup into melted gum base. Stir well. This makes the gum chewy and soft.

Add flavor and color

  • Add flavor extract and a few drops of food coloring. Mix until fully combined.

Mix with powdered sugar

  • Gradually add powdered sugar. Stir or knead until smooth. Dough should not stick to hands.

Shape the gum

  • Roll the gum into small balls or sticks. Dust with extra powdered sugar to prevent sticking.

Let it set

  • Place shaped gum on parchment paper. Allow it to cool and firm for 10–15 minutes before chewing.

Notes

  • Use gloves to prevent sticky hands.
  • Do not overheat the gum base or it burns.
  • Start with a small amount of food coloring; adjust later.
  • Store in airtight containers to keep fresh.
  • Experiment with different flavors for variety.
