Ingredients
  

  • Lo mein noodles 8 ounces
  • Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic cloves 3, minced
  • Carrot 1 medium, julienned
  • Bell pepper 1 medium, sliced
  • Cabbage 1 cup, shredded
  • Green onions 3 stalks, chopped

For the Sauce:

  • Soy sauce 3 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper ½ teaspoon

Instructions
 

Boil the Noodles

  • Boil water in a large pot. Cook noodles until soft. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce

  • Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar and pepper in a small bowl.

Heat the Pan

  • Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Make sure oil is hot.

Cook Garlic

  • Add minced garlic to hot oil. Stir quickly until fragrant. Do not burn garlic.

Add Vegetables

  • Add carrots, bell peppers and cabbage. Stir fry for three minutes until slightly soft.

Add Noodles

  • Add cooked noodles to the pan. Toss gently with vegetables.

Pour the Sauce

  • Pour prepared sauce over noodles. Stir well so noodles get evenly coated.

Toss Well

  • Toss everything for two minutes. Make sure sauce sticks to noodles evenly.

Add Green Onions

  • Add chopped green onions. Toss lightly for fresh flavor.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste noodles carefully. Add more soy sauce if needed.

Turn Off Heat

  • Turn off heat once noodles look glossy and well mixed.

Serve Hot

  • Serve lo mein immediately while hot and fresh.
