Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni or pasta of choice
  • 4 ounces Boursin cheese garlic & herb flavor
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika for garnish optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside. Reserve a little pasta water for creamy texture if needed.

Melt the Butter

  • In a skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic powder if using. Stir for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

Add Milk and Boursin

  • Pour milk into the skillet. Add Boursin cheese. Stir constantly until cheese melts completely and forms a smooth sauce.

Add Cheddar Cheese

  • Gradually stir in shredded cheddar. Keep stirring until fully melted and creamy. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Combine Pasta and Sauce

  • Add cooked pasta to the cheese sauce. Toss gently to coat evenly. Add a little reserved pasta water if sauce is too thick.

Garnish and Serve

  • Transfer mac and cheese to a serving bowl. Sprinkle paprika and fresh parsley on top. Serve warm immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use full-fat milk for creamier texture
  • Add extra cheddar for richer flavor
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top and broil for a crunchy topping
  • Use fresh herbs like parsley or chives for brightness
  • Keep stirring cheese slowly to prevent clumps
