Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Fritos corn chips
  • 2 cups cooked chili homemade or canned
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños optional
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil if cooking fresh chili
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or oven-safe skillet to prevent sticking.

Layer Fritos

  • Spread Fritos evenly on the bottom of the dish. This creates a crunchy base for the chili and toppings.

Add Chili

  • Spoon cooked chili evenly over the Fritos. Make sure each chip is coated with a little chili.

Sprinkle Cheese

  • Top the chili layer with shredded cheddar cheese. Add more or less according to taste.

Add Veggies

  • Scatter diced onions, tomatoes and jalapeños over the cheese. This adds freshness and color to the dish.

Bake the Pie

  • Place the dish in the oven and bake for 10–15 minutes. Bake until cheese melts and edges bubble.

Serve and Garnish

  • Remove from oven. Add dollops of sour cream and sprinkle fresh cilantro on top. Serve hot immediately.

  • Use your favorite chili recipe or store-bought chili for convenience
  • Add extra cheese for a richer flavor
  • Keep Fritos crunchy by adding chili just before baking
  • Use jalapeños for mild or extra spice
