Ingredients

  • Ground beef 250 grams
  • Velveeta cheese 225 grams, cubed
  • Rotel tomatoes with green chilies 1 can, drained
  • Onion 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Garlic powder ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper ¼ teaspoon

Instructions

Cook the beef

  • Place a pan on medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Break it apart while cooking.

Drain excess fat

  • Remove extra grease from the pan. This keeps the dip smooth and not oily.

Add onion

  • Add chopped onion to the beef. Cook for two minutes until soft and fragrant.

Add Rotel tomatoes

  • Stir in drained Rotel tomatoes. Mix well so flavors combine evenly.

Add seasonings

  • Sprinkle garlic powder and black pepper. Stir gently to spread flavor through the meat.

Add cheese

  • Add cubed Velveeta cheese to the pan. Lower heat to medium-low.

Melt the cheese

  • Stir slowly until cheese melts completely. The dip should look smooth and creamy.

Adjust texture

  • If dip feels thick, add two tablespoons milk. Stir until you like the texture.

Taste and adjust

  • Taste the dip carefully. Add more pepper or spice if needed.

Serve warm

  • Turn off heat and serve immediately. Keep warm on low heat if serving later.

Notes

  • Use lean beef to reduce grease.
  • Drain tomatoes well for better texture.
  • Stir often to prevent cheese burning.
  • Keep heat low while melting cheese.
  • Add jalapeños for extra spice.
