Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the beaten eggs and mashed bananas. Stir well to combine.

Add Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add the dry mix to the wet mix. Stir gently until just combined. Don’t overmix or the bread will be dense.

Add Vanilla

  • Pour in vanilla extract and stir lightly. You can also add nuts or chocolate chips if you like.

Pour and Bake

  • Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for about 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve

  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a rack to cool completely. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use overripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overmix the batter — it makes the bread tough.
  • Add nuts, cinnamon, or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
  • Line your pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Store the bread wrapped to keep it moist longer.
