Ingredients

  • 4 cups green beans fresh or canned, drained
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 ounces
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions divided: some for mixing, some for topping
  • Salt to taste optional, based on your preference

Instructions

Mix the Sauce

  • Combine soup, milk, soy sauce and pepper in a bowl. Stir well until smooth and creamy.

Add the Beans

  • Add green beans to the sauce. Mix until all beans are fully coated evenly.

Add Some Onions

  • Stir in part of the crispy onions. This adds crunch inside the casserole mix.

Fill the Dish

  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish. Spread evenly with a spatula for smooth cooking.

Bake the Casserole

  • Bake the dish in the oven until hot and bubbly. This helps blend all flavors together.

Add Final Topping

  • Add the rest of the crispy onions on top. Bake again until the onions turn golden.

Let It Rest

  • Remove from the oven carefully. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh green beans for a firmer bite.
  • Add a little garlic powder for extra flavor.
  • Do not skip the crispy onions. They give the best crunch.
  • Do not overbake or the sauce may dry out.
  • Add cheese on top for a rich and creamy twist.
