Ingredients
  

  • 6 tomatillos husked and rinsed
  • 2 jalapeños stem removed
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ¼ cup cilantro
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water adjust for thickness

Instructions
 

Boil the Vegetables

  • Add tomatillos, jalapeños, onion, and garlic to a pot.
  • Cover with water and boil for 8–10 minutes until soft.

Drain and Blend

  • Drain the water.
  • Add cooked vegetables to a blender.
  • Add cilantro, lime juice, salt, and ½ cup fresh water.

Blend Until Smooth

  • Blend until the sauce becomes smooth and bright green.
  • Add more water if you want a thinner sauce.

Adjust Seasoning

  • Taste the sauce.
  • Add extra salt or lime if needed.

Chill Before Serving

  • Let the sauce cool in the fridge for 20–30 minutes.
  • This helps the flavors come together.

Notes

  • Add avocado for a creamy version.
  • Remove jalapeño seeds for mild spice.
  • Add a serrano pepper for extra heat.
  • Roast vegetables instead of boiling for deeper flavor.
  • Keep sauce chilled for freshness.
