Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese freshly grated
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter cubed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika optional
  • 2 –3 tablespoons cold water

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. This prevents sticking and makes cleaning easier later.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, add flour, salt and paprika. Stir well to combine everything evenly. This helps the crackers taste balanced and flavorful.

Add Butter

  • Add cold cubed butter into the flour mixture. Use your fingers or pastry cutter. Rub until the mixture looks like small crumbs.

Add Cheese

  • Add freshly grated cheddar cheese into the bowl. Mix well until combined. The cheese should spread evenly through the flour mixture.

Add Cold Water

  • Add one tablespoon cold water at a time. Mix gently after each addition. Stop when the dough comes together and feels slightly firm.

Shape the Dough

  • Place the dough on a clean surface. Press it into a flat disc. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Roll the Dough

  • Place chilled dough between two parchment sheets. Roll it thin using a rolling pin. Try to keep the thickness even for uniform baking.

Cut the Crackers

  • Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut small squares. You can also use small cookie cutters for fun shapes. Keep pieces close together.

Poke Small Holes

  • Use a fork to poke tiny holes in each cracker. This helps steam escape while baking and keeps crackers flat and crisp.

Bake the Crackers

  • Place the tray in the oven. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and crispy. Watch carefully to prevent burning.

Cool Completely

  • Remove from oven and let crackers cool fully. They will become crispier as they cool. Store once completely cooled.
