Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 10 –15 drops essential oil lavender, citrus, peppermint, etc.
  • Food coloring optional
  • Small jars or containers

Instructions

Heat the Water

  • Pour 1 cup water into a small saucepan. Heat over medium until it is warm but not boiling.

Add Gelatin

  • Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of gelatin into the warm water. Stir continuously until fully dissolved.

Add Salt

  • Add 1 tablespoon of salt to help preserve the gel and prevent mold. Stir well to combine.

Add Essential Oils

  • Add 10–15 drops of your favorite essential oil. Mix gently to distribute the scent evenly.

Add Food Coloring

  • If you want, add a few drops of food coloring. Stir slowly until the color is uniform.

Pour Into Jars

  • Carefully pour the gel mixture into small jars or containers. Leave some space at the top.

Let Gel Set

  • Allow the gel to cool at room temperature for 1 hour. Then place jars in the fridge for firm setting.

Seal the Jars

  • Once set, close the jars with lids. Keep them in a cool place for longer freshness.

Enjoy Your Air Freshener

  • Place the jars around your home. Enjoy the fresh scent in bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas.

Refresh When Needed

  • If the scent fades, simply stir the gel or add a few extra drops of essential oil.

Notes

  • Use high-quality essential oils for stronger fragrance.
  • Do not boil the water, or gelatin may lose texture.
  • Add decorative elements like small dried flowers for a pretty look.
  • Stir the gel occasionally to release the scent more.
  • Make small batches to try different scents.
