Ingredients

  • Chicken wings – 1 kg cut into flats and drumettes
  • Honey – ½ cup
  • Old Bay seasoning – 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Baking powder – 1 tablespoon
  • Butter – 2 tablespoons melted
  • Hot sauce – 1 tablespoon optional
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Wings

  • Wash the chicken wings and pat them completely dry using paper towels. Dry skin helps make them crispy. Cut wings into pieces if needed and place them in a large bowl.

Season the Wings

  • Add baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Toss the wings well to coat evenly. This step helps create a crispy outer layer when baked.

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with foil and place a wire rack on top. This allows hot air to circulate and cook wings evenly.

Arrange the Wings

  • Place the wings on the wire rack in a single layer. Make sure they do not touch each other. This helps them cook evenly and become crispy on all sides.

Bake the Wings

  • Bake the wings for 35 to 40 minutes. Flip them halfway through cooking. The wings should turn golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye to avoid burning.

Prepare the Honey Sauce

  • In a small pan, add honey, melted butter, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice and hot sauce. Heat on low and stir well until smooth and slightly thick.

Coat the Wings

  • Remove the wings from the oven. Place them in a clean bowl. Pour the honey sauce over the wings. Toss well until each wing is fully coated.

Final Bake

  • Return the coated wings to the oven. Bake for another 5 minutes. This helps the sauce stick better and creates a sticky glaze.

Serve Hot

  • Remove from oven and let them rest for 2 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy your Honey Old Bay Chicken Wings Recipe with your favorite dip.

Notes

  • Always dry the wings before seasoning.
  • Use a wire rack for best crispiness.
  • Do not skip baking powder. It helps texture.
  • Adjust spice level with more or less hot sauce.
  • Add extra honey for a sweeter glaze.
  • Serve immediately for best taste.
