- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup warm milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 –3 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Step 1: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, pepper, cloves, cinnamon and salt.
Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients
- Enjoy with espresso or cappuccino.
- Serve after dinner with red wine.
- Pack in boxes as holiday gifts.
- Keep in an airtight container for 1 week.
