Ingredients

  • Spaghetti – 300 grams
  • Ground beef – 400 grams
  • Onion chopped – 1 medium
  • Garlic minced – 2 cloves
  • Tomato sauce – 2 cups
  • Tomato paste – 2 tablespoons
  • Italian seasoning – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Mozzarella cheese – 1 ½ cups
  • Cheddar cheese – 1 cup
  • Parmesan cheese – ½ cup

Instructions

Cook the Spaghetti

  • Boil water in a large pot. Add salt and spaghetti. Cook until just tender. Do not overcook. Drain using a colander and set aside for later use.

Prepare the Meat Sauce

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly. Add ground beef and cook until browned completely.

Add Tomato Mixture

  • Add tomato sauce and tomato paste to the beef. Stir well. Add Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.

Mix Pasta and Sauce

  • Add cooked spaghetti into the sauce. Mix gently until pasta is fully coated. This step helps every bite have rich flavor and perfect seasoning.

Prepare Baking Dish

  • Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a baking dish lightly. Spread half of the spaghetti mixture evenly in the dish to create the first layer.

Add Cheese Layer

  • Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the first layer. Add the remaining spaghetti mixture on top. This creates a nice layered texture.

Top with More Cheese

  • Add remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top. Spread evenly for a golden crust. Cheese will melt and form a delicious topping while baking.

Bake the Spaghetti

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for about 25–30 minutes. The top should be bubbly and golden. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Cook pasta slightly firm to avoid mushy texture
  • Use fresh cheese for better melting
  • Add herbs like basil for extra flavor
  • Let baked spaghetti rest before cutting
  • Use a deep dish for even layers
  • Adjust seasoning to your taste
