Ingredients

For Burgers:

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 cheese slices
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

For Fries:

  • 3 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes

  • Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips like fries. Try to keep equal size for even cooking. Soak them in cold water for 15 minutes to remove starch.

Dry and Season the Fries

  • Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a towel. Place them in a bowl. Add olive oil, salt and paprika. Mix well so all fries are coated evenly.

Bake the Fries

  • Preheat oven to 220°C. Line a tray with parchment paper. Spread fries in a single layer. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip once halfway through cooking.

Prepare the Burger Mixture

  • In a bowl, add ground beef, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Mix gently using your hands. Do not overmix. Divide into four equal parts and shape into burger patties.

Cook the Burger Patties

  • Heat a pan or grill on medium heat. Place patties on the hot surface. Cook for 4–5 minutes on each side. Add cheese slices in the last minute to melt nicely.

Toast the Burger Buns

  • Slice buns in half. Lightly toast them on a pan or oven. This adds a nice crunch and prevents them from getting soggy when you add sauces.

Assemble the Burgers

  • Spread mayonnaise and ketchup on buns. Place lettuce, cooked patty, tomato slices, and onion. Cover with the top bun. Serve immediately with hot crispy fries.

Notes

  • Use fresh ground beef for best flavor and juicy texture.
  • Do not press patties while cooking. It removes juices.
  • Soaking potatoes helps make fries crispy.
  • Flip fries once for even browning.
  • Add your favorite spices for extra taste.
  • Use brioche buns for a soft and rich feel.
