Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs

For Filling:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup butter softened

For Icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Activate the Yeast

  • In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Add a little sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes. It should become foamy and active.

Prepare the Dough

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, and yeast mixture. Mix well until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough

  • Place dough on a clean surface. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth. The dough should feel soft and slightly sticky.

First Rise

  • Place dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until it doubles in size.

Roll the Dough

  • After rising, roll the dough into a large rectangle. Use a rolling pin to make it even. Keep thickness about half an inch.

Add Filling

  • Spread softened butter over the dough. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly. Press gently so the filling sticks well.

Roll and Cut

  • Roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces using a knife. Try to keep pieces even for uniform baking.

Second Rise

  • Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for 20–30 minutes. They should become soft and puffy.

Bake the Rolls

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. The tops should look light golden and soft.

Add Icing and Serve

  • Mix icing ingredients until smooth. Spread over warm rolls. Serve fresh and enjoy soft, sweet and fluffy cinnamon rolls.

Notes

  • Use warm milk, not hot, for yeast activation.
  • Do not skip the second rise for soft texture.
  • Roll dough evenly for perfect shape.
  • Use fresh yeast for best results.
  • Add nuts or raisins for extra flavor.
  • Spread icing while rolls are still warm.
