Ingredients

  • 20 large white mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

Clean the Mushrooms

  • Wipe the mushrooms gently with paper towels. Remove the stems carefully and keep them aside. Place mushroom caps on a clean baking sheet.

Chop the Mushroom Stems

  • Finely chop the mushroom stems using a sharp knife. The chopped stems add extra flavor and texture to the creamy mushroom filling.

Cook the Vegetables

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, and chopped mushroom stems. Cook until soft and fragrant.

Prepare the Filling

  • Transfer the cooked mixture into a bowl. Add cream cheese, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Mix everything well until creamy.

Fill the Mushrooms

  • Use a spoon to stuff each mushroom cap with the prepared filling. Press gently so the filling stays inside during baking.

Arrange on Baking Sheet

  • Place the filled mushrooms evenly on the baking sheet. Leave a little space between each mushroom for even cooking and browning.

Bake the Mushrooms

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the stuffed mushrooms for about 25 minutes until the tops become golden and bubbly.

Cool Slightly Before Serving

  • Remove the mushrooms from the oven carefully. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving because the filling stays very hot.

Garnish and Enjoy

  • Sprinkle fresh parsley and extra parmesan cheese on top before serving. Enjoy these warm mushrooms with your favorite dipping sauce or side dish.

Notes

  • Choose large mushrooms for easier filling.
  • Do not wash mushrooms under too much water.
  • Use fresh garlic for stronger flavor.
  • Add cooked bacon for extra smoky taste.
  • Panko breadcrumbs give a crispier topping.
  • Do not overfill the mushrooms.
  • Fresh parsley adds bright flavor and color.
  • Serve the mushrooms warm for best texture.
  • Use a lined baking tray for easy cleanup.
