Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons agar agar powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Food coloring any color you like
  • Flavor extracts strawberry, lemon, or your favorite

Instructions

Mix Agar and Water

  • Add agar agar powder to water in a saucepan. Stir it well before heating. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom the agar.

Heat the Mixture

  • Turn on the stove and heat the agar water. Stir it often until it starts to boil. Make sure there are no lumps.

Add Sugar

  • Add sugar to the boiling mix. Keep stirring until the sugar fully melts. This will make the mixture smooth and clear.

Add Flavors and Colors

  • Turn off the heat. Add your favorite flavor extracts. Then, add drops of food coloring. Mix gently to combine. You can divide the mixture into cups for different colors.

Pour into Molds

  • Pour the mix into silicone molds or a small tray. Let it cool for about 1 hour at room temperature. It should set and become firm.

Cut into Shapes

  • Once set, remove from the molds. If you used a tray, cut the candy into small crystal-like pieces using a knife. The rough cuts make them look like gems.

Dry the Candy

  • Place the pieces on a tray or plate. Let them dry for 2–3 days at room temperature. The outside will harden, but the inside will stay soft and chewy.

Enjoy Your Crystals

  • Once dry, your Kohakutou Crystal Gummy Candy is ready to enjoy. The crystal-like candies will shine and sparkle beautifully.

Notes

  • Use clear agar for a glassy look.
  • Do not overboil; it can make the candy rubbery.
  • Try pastel colors for a pretty effect.
  • Keep each color separate to avoid mixing.
  • Let it dry in a cool, dry area, not the fridge.
