Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Peel and devein shrimp if needed. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

Make the Seasoning

  • In a mixing bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, black pepper, salt, and brown sugar.

Coat the Shrimp

  • Add olive oil and lemon juice to the seasoning. Toss shrimp until fully coated.

Skewer the Shrimp

  • Thread shrimp onto skewers. Make sure they are evenly spaced for even cooking.

Preheat the Grill

  • Heat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Brush lightly with oil to prevent sticking.

Grill the Shrimp

  • Place skewers on the grill. Cook 3–4 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Check Doneness

  • Shrimp should curl slightly and turn pink. Avoid overcooking to keep them juicy.

Serve Hot

  • Remove shrimp from skewers. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Pat shrimp dry to ensure the seasoning sticks.
  • Cook shrimp quickly over high heat for tender results.
  • Add extra lemon juice for a fresh flavor kick.
  • Serve with rice, salad, or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
