Ingredients

  • Yellow cake mix 1 box
  • Eggs 3
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Water 1 cup
  • Eggnog 1 cup
  • Instant vanilla pudding mix 1 small box
  • Powdered sugar 1/4 cup
  • Whipped cream 1 cup
  • Nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or oil.

Prepare the Cake Batter

  • In a mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, eggs, oil and water. Mix until smooth and lump-free.

Bake the Cake

  • Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool Slightly

  • Remove cake from oven. Let it cool for 10 minutes. Warm cake helps eggnog soak better.

Poke the Cake

  • Use a toothpick or skewer. Poke holes all over the top of the warm cake evenly.

Pour Eggnog Slowly

  • Pour 1 cup eggnog over cake holes. Let it soak into the cake completely for moist texture.

Prepare Pudding Topping

  • In a bowl, mix instant pudding and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy.

Spread Pudding on Cake

  • Spread pudding evenly over soaked cake using a spatula. Cover all cake holes completely.

Add Whipped Cream

  • Top the cake with 1 cup whipped cream. Spread evenly for a creamy layer on top.

Garnish with Nutmeg

  • Sprinkle nutmeg lightly over whipped cream. Chill in fridge for 1–2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Warm cake helps eggnog soak better.
  • Use toothpick holes evenly for uniform soaking.
  • Chill cake before serving for best taste.
  • Nutmeg adds a festive touch.
