Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Medium bowl
  • Whisk
  • Fork or potato masher
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • 9x5-inch loaf pan
  • Spatula
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan lightly with butter or oil. This helps the bread release easily after baking and keeps the edges from sticking.

2. Mash the Bananas

  • Place the ripe bananas in a large bowl. Use a fork or masher to mash them well. The bananas should be smooth with small lumps for natural texture.

3. Mix Wet Ingredients

  • Add melted butter to the mashed bananas. Stir gently to combine. Then add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix everything until smooth and creamy without over mixing.

4. Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Stir well so baking soda spreads evenly. This step helps the bread rise evenly during baking.

5. Mix Wet and Dry Together

  • Slowly add the dry mixture into the banana mixture. Stir gently with a spatula. Pour in milk and mix just until combined. Do not overmix the batter.

6. Pour into Pan

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread the top evenly with a spatula. Tap the pan lightly on the counter to remove air bubbles.

7. Bake the Bread

  • Place the pan in the preheated oven. Bake for about 55 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, the bread is ready.

8. Cool Before Serving

  • Remove the pan from the oven carefully. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a cooling rack and cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for best flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter.
  • Check bread after 50 minutes.
  • Cover with foil if top browns too fast.
  • Store in airtight container for two days.
  • Reheat slices for 10 to 15 seconds in microwave.
