Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger minced
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes optional
  • 3 green onions sliced

Instructions
 

Cook the Noodles

  • Boil noodles in salted water. Cook until soft. Drain well. Set aside for later use.

Brown the Beef

  • Heat oil in a large pan. Add ground beef. Cook until browned. Break meat into small pieces.

Add Garlic and Ginger

  • Add garlic and ginger to the beef. Stir and cook until fragrant, about one minute.

Make the Sauce

  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar and beef broth. Stir until sugar fully dissolves.

Thicken the Sauce

  • Mix cornstarch with water. Pour into sauce mixture. Stir well to avoid lumps.

Combine Beef and Sauce

  • Pour sauce into the pan with beef. Simmer gently until sauce thickens nicely.

Add the Noodles

  • Add cooked noodles to the pan. Toss gently until noodles are fully coated.

Finish and Garnish

  • Add black pepper and chili flakes. Garnish with green onions. Serve hot and fresh.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce grease.
  • Do not overcook the noodles.
  • Stir sauce well to avoid clumps.
  • Adjust sugar for sweeter taste.
  • Add vegetables for extra color.
