Ingredients

  • 1 jar dill pickles whole or spears
  • 2 cups moonshine
  • ½ cup pickle juice
  • ¼ cup sugar optional
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 4 garlic cloves sliced
  • 1 small chili pepper sliced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon dill leaves

Instructions

Drain the Pickles

  • Pour out most of the pickle juice from the jar. Keep half a cup for flavor.

Cut the Pickles

  • Cut the pickles into spears or slices. You can keep them whole if you prefer.

Prepare the Jar

  • Place garlic, chili slices and dill leaves at the bottom of the jar.

Add the Pickles to the Jar

  • Place all the pickles back into the jar. Pack them tightly for better soaking.

Add the Sugar

  • Sprinkle sugar over the pickles. This adds sweetness and helps the flavors blend well.

Pour the Moonshine

  • Add moonshine to the jar. Make sure it covers all the pickles fully.

Add Pickle Juice

  • Pour in the half-cup pickle juice. This keeps the pickle taste strong.

Mix the Spices

  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy version. Add more if you want extra heat.

Seal the Jar

  • Close the jar well. Shake it gently to mix the moonshine and flavors.

Chill Before Serving

  • Place the jar in the fridge for at least 2 days. More days give stronger flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh, crunchy pickles for the best texture.
  • Let the jar rest longer for stronger moonshine flavor.
  • Use flavored moonshine like apple, peach or cinnamon for fun twists.
  • Add more garlic for deep flavor.
  • Do not leave the jar at room temperature. Keep it chilled.
  • Shake the jar every day to help the flavors blend well.
