Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

Heat the Oil

  • Pour vegetable oil into a small saucepan. Heat it on medium until hot but not smoking.

Prepare the Spice Mix

  • Add cayenne, paprika, chili powder, salt, pepper, sugar, garlic, and onion powder into a bowl.

Bloom the Spices

  • Carefully pour hot oil over the spice mix. Whisk slowly until smooth and well combined.

Add Extra Flavor

  • Stir in hot sauce and honey. Mix well until the sauce looks glossy and thick.

Rest the Sauce

  • Let the sauce cool for five minutes. This helps flavors blend and deepen nicely.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste carefully. Add more honey for sweetness or cayenne for extra heat.

Notes

  • Use fresh spices for stronger flavor.
  • Reduce cayenne if you prefer mild heat.
  • Always pour oil slowly to avoid splashing.
  • Stir constantly for smooth texture.
  • Let sauce rest before serving for best taste.
