Ingredients

  • 2 cups bow tie pasta farfalle
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 250 g ground beef or chicken
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water or broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish optional

Instructions

Cook the Meat

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Add garlic and stir for one minute. Add ground meat and cook until browned.

Add Sauce and Seasoning

  • Pour marinara sauce into the pan. Add water or broth. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix everything well so flavors combine nicely and evenly.

Add Bow Tie Pasta

  • Add uncooked bow tie pasta directly into the pan. Stir gently so pasta is covered with sauce. This helps it cook evenly and absorb flavor.

Simmer the Pasta

  • Cover the pan with a lid. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Pasta will become soft and tender while cooking in sauce.

Add Ricotta Cheese

  • Once pasta is cooked, add spoonfuls of ricotta cheese. Do not mix fully. Keep small pockets of cheese for creamy texture in every bite.

Add Mozzarella and Parmesan

  • Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top. Cover the pan again and let cheese melt slowly. This creates a gooey and delicious top layer.

Let It Rest

  • Turn off heat and let the dish rest for five minutes. This helps the sauce thicken and flavors settle properly before serving.

Garnish and Serve

  • Add fresh basil on top for color and taste. Serve warm directly from the pan. Enjoy this comforting and cheesy pasta dish with family.

Notes

  • Use good quality marinara sauce for better taste
  • Stir pasta gently to avoid breaking
  • Add extra cheese if you like it more creamy
  • Use chicken instead of beef for lighter option
  • Keep heat low to avoid burning
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy touch
