Ingredients

  • cups granulated sugar
  • cup evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Pan

  • Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Leave extra paper on the sides. This helps you lift the fudge easily after it sets.

Combine Sugar and Milk

  • Place the sugar and evaporated milk in a medium saucepan. Stir them together gently. Heat the mixture over medium heat while stirring constantly.

Bring to a Gentle Boil

  • Continue stirring the mixture until it begins to boil lightly. Let it boil for about one minute. Stir carefully so the sugar dissolves completely.

Add Butter and Chocolate

  • Remove the saucepan from heat. Add butter and chocolate chips immediately. Stir slowly until the butter melts and the chocolate becomes smooth.

Add Marshmallows

  • Add the mini marshmallows to the warm mixture. Stir until they melt and blend into the chocolate mixture. This step makes the fudge creamy and smooth.

Add Vanilla and Salt

  • Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix everything well so the flavors combine evenly.

Add Nuts (Optional)

  • If you like a crunchy texture, add chopped walnuts or pecans. Stir gently so the nuts spread evenly throughout the fudge mixture.

Pour Into the Pan

  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly. Smooth the top so the fudge looks neat.

Let the Fudge Set

  • Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for about one hour. You can also place it in the refrigerator to help it set faster.

Cut and Serve

  • Once the fudge becomes firm, lift it from the pan using the parchment paper. Cut it into small squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use good-quality chocolate chips for better flavor.
  • Stir the sugar mixture constantly to avoid burning.
  • Do not overcook the sugar mixture.
  • Line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Let the fudge cool completely before cutting.
  • Add nuts or dried fruit for extra texture.
  • Store the fudge in a cool place to keep it firm.
