Ingredients

  • Ground beef – 500g
  • Onion – 1 large chopped
  • Garlic cloves – 3 minced
  • Tomato sauce – 2 cups
  • Diced tomatoes – 1 can 400g
  • Elbow macaroni – 2 cups
  • Beef broth – 2 cups
  • Worcestershire sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Italian seasoning – 1 tsp
  • Paprika – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper – to taste
  • Cheddar cheese – 1 cup optional

Instructions

Cook the Beef

  • Heat a large pot on medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Break it into small pieces while cooking. Drain extra fat to keep the dish light.

Add Onion and Garlic

  • Add chopped onion to the beef. Cook until soft and slightly golden. Then add minced garlic. Stir for one minute until fragrant and well mixed.

Add Tomatoes and Sauce

  • Pour in tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Stir well to combine. This creates a rich base. Let it cook for a few minutes for better flavor.

Add Seasonings

  • Add Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix everything well. These spices bring depth and taste to the dish.

Pour in Broth and Pasta

  • Add beef broth and uncooked macaroni. Stir gently. Make sure pasta is covered in liquid. This helps it cook evenly and absorb flavor.

Simmer the Goulash

  • Cover the pot and cook on low heat. Let it simmer for 20 minutes. Stir sometimes to avoid sticking. Pasta will become soft and tender.

Add Cheese (Optional)

  • If you like cheesy flavor, add cheddar cheese. Stir until melted. This makes the goulash creamy and rich. It also adds a nice texture.

Serve Hot

  • Turn off heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve warm in bowls. Enjoy your homemade comfort meal with family or friends.

Notes

  • Use lean beef to reduce extra oil.
  • Stir often to prevent pasta from sticking.
  • Add more broth if it becomes too thick.
  • Use fresh garlic for better flavor.
  • Do not overcook pasta to avoid mushy texture.
  • Add chili flakes if you like a spicy taste.
