Ingredients

  • Sweet corn kernels – 2 cups fresh or canned
  • Cream cheese – 200 g softened
  • Sour cream – ½ cup
  • Mayonnaise – ½ cup
  • Cheddar cheese – 1 cup shredded
  • Green onions – 2 tablespoons chopped
  • Jalapeño – 1 small finely chopped
  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

Instructions

Prepare the Corn

  • If using canned corn, drain it well. If using fresh corn, boil it for a few minutes. Let it cool completely before mixing with other ingredients.

Soften the Cream Cheese

  • Place cream cheese in a bowl and let it sit at room temperature. This makes it easier to mix. Soft cream cheese gives a smooth dip texture.

Mix the Base

  • Add cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise into a bowl. Mix well until smooth and creamy. This creates a rich base for the dip.

Add Corn and Cheese

  • Add sweet corn and shredded cheddar cheese into the mixture. Stir gently to combine. Make sure everything is evenly mixed for balanced flavor in every bite.

Add Seasonings

  • Add chopped green onions, jalapeño, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix again. These ingredients add freshness, spice, and extra flavor to the dip.

Chill or Heat the Dip

  • You can serve this dip cold or warm. For a cold dip, chill for 30 minutes. For a warm dip, heat in a pan for 5 minutes.

Stir Before Serving

  • Before serving, give the dip a quick stir. This helps mix all flavors well. Taste and adjust salt or spice if needed.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Serve with chips, crackers or bread. Enjoy this creamy and delicious appetizer with family and friends.
