Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked crab meat fresh or canned
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a baking dish. This helps the dip cook evenly and prevents sticking during baking.

Prepare the Crab

  • Check the crab meat for shells. Remove any hard pieces. Gently break large chunks into smaller pieces for better mixing and texture.

Mix Creamy Base

  • In a bowl, add cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.

Add Seasonings

  • Add garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper and lemon juice. Mix again until everything blends well. This adds flavor and freshness to the dip.

Add Crab Meat

  • Fold the crab meat gently into the mixture. Do not overmix. Keep some chunks for better texture and taste.

Add Cheese

  • Add shredded cheddar and parmesan cheese. Mix lightly so cheese spreads evenly. This gives a rich and cheesy flavor to the dip.

Transfer to Baking Dish

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly using a spatula. Smooth the top for even baking.

Bake the Dip

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for 25 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly. The dip should be hot and slightly thick.

Cool and Serve

  • Remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with bread, crackers or chips. Enjoy your homemade dip.

Notes

  • Use fresh crab for best flavor
  • Soften cream cheese before mixing
  • Do not overmix crab meat
  • Add extra cheese for a richer taste
  • Use lemon juice for freshness
  • Serve warm for best texture
