Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup colorful candy-coated chocolates like M&M’s
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. This prevents sticking and helps cookies bake evenly with a nice golden color.

Mix Butter and Peanut Butter

  • In a large bowl, add softened butter and peanut butter. Beat them together until smooth and creamy. This step creates a rich base for soft and chewy cookies.

Add Sugars

  • Add brown sugar and granulated sugar into the bowl. Mix well until light and fluffy. This helps give the cookies a soft texture and sweet flavor.

Add Eggs and Vanilla

  • Crack eggs into the mixture one at a time. Mix slowly after each egg. Add vanilla extract and stir well. The batter should look smooth and creamy.

Add Dry Ingredients

  • Add baking soda and salt into the bowl. Mix gently. Then add rolled oats and combine everything well. The dough will become thick and slightly sticky.

Add Chocolate and Candy

  • Fold in chocolate chips and candy-coated chocolates. Mix evenly so every cookie gets a good amount of toppings. This gives the cookies a fun look.

Shape the Cookies

  • Use a cookie scoop or spoon to form dough balls. Place them on the baking tray. Leave space between each cookie as they spread while baking.

Bake the Cookies

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes. The edges should look golden. The center will stay soft. Do not overbake to keep them chewy.

Cool Before Serving

  • Remove cookies from the oven. Let them cool on the tray for 5 minutes. Then transfer to a rack. Cooling helps them set properly and taste better.

Notes

  • Use soft butter for easy mixing
  • Do not overbake the cookies
  • Use old-fashioned oats for best texture
  • Add extra chocolate if you like rich taste
  • Chill dough for thicker cookies
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking
